Assistive Technology Loans

The Assistive Technology Program temporarily equips individuals with disabilities with assistive technology for short-term accommodation purposes, trial use, evaluation, making an informed purchase, or participating in virtual programming offered by The Ability Center and other community organizations.

Our program provides individuals with disability-related equipment at no cost. Please note that equipment availability, colors, brands, and styles may vary. We also accept donations of durable medical equipment. All items are cleaned and sanitized by our staff before lending. Individuals work with staff to develop independent living goals which are achievable with the help of assistive technology.

Switch-adapted toys and leisure items are also available for loan through a grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. Independent play, leisure activities, and social participation are the primary goals of adaptive toys. The Ability Center will continue to expand this program through funds from donations, grants, and collaboration with organizations.

Thanks to The Ability Center, he was able to borrow an iPad to aid him in completing his schoolwork. This has been an extreme help and we are very grateful to be a part of The Ability Center community!”
