Disability Manager for City of Toledo
A lifelong resident of Northwest Ohio, Valerie Fatica graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2008 after receiving her undergraduate degree at Kent State University. She held a private practice for fourteen years, focusing primarily on family law and Title III ADA litigation. From 2016-2022 she also worked part time as a staff attorney at Legal Aid of Western Ohio. In June of 2022, she was hired as the City of Toledo’s first Disability Manager. In that role, Valerie serves as more than just the Title II ADA coordinator. The Disability Manager is responsible for advancing strategic policies and programs for people with disabilities in the City of Toledo and advising the Mayor’s Office and City Departments on the needs of residents with disabilities.

Kevin Fong is the Inclusion Strategy Coordinator for the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium. In this new role for the zoo, he is tasked with developing the DEAI strategic plan for the zoo ensuring that the core values of DEAI become an integral part of their mission and values. Kevin has been involved in the disability community for over 18 years as a job coach, program coordinator, volunteer, as well as friend and has continued to advocate for inclusive programming and hiring practices for people with disabilities.
