Our first book is a mystery page turner, ‘Fortune Favors the Dead’. In this fiction story, Willowjean “Will” Parker, is the scrappy assistant to Lillian Pentecost. Lillian Pentecost is a detective with multiple sclerosis and with Will’s support they work to solve crimes in New York City. When socialite Abigail Collins is found murdered by crystal ball at the Halloween Party, the partners must navigate the seedy underworld of the uber wealthy, spiritualists, and factories of 1942’s New York City.
We will meet monthly to discuss the book, share our thoughts and have some laughs.
Books will be provided by the Ability Center or you can borrow it from your local library.
The November meeting is at Rick’s City Diner, 5333 Monroe St., Toledo, Ohio 43623. Lunch will be provided.
