On May 4, 2023 Renee Wood and Brittanie Maddox testified at the Ohio Statehouse in front of the Senate Medicaid Committee on HB33, Ohio’s Operating Budget for FY24-25. They joined many other advocates expressing concern regarding the in-home direct care crisis that is impacting thousands of Ohioans with disabilities. They discussed the importance of increasing wages for this vital workforce, establishing a Commission to oversee systemic reform of direct care, and advocate for language change in the Supported Decision-Making Amendment.
