On June 8, 2023 Brittanie Maddox testified at the Ohio Statehouse in front of the Senate Finance Committee in the final days of budget advocacy before the bill would head to the Conference Committee. She urged Ohio Senators to ensure the Supported Decision-Making Amendment language was either changed or removed, wage parity among all Direct Care Workers regardless of service system, and to expand the HCBS Direct Care Wages Task Force to include consumers with disabilities, members from a Center for Independent Living, and/or a member from Ohio Statewide Independent Living Council (OSILC).
